About Us

Erin & Shane

Shane started showing his Doberman in the early 1990's. One day, while walking his beloved pet, Boo, on the beach, a woman came up to him and suggested that he think about showing Boo.  Shane decided to give it a try.  Shane entered Boo at Silver Bay Kennel Club.  Boo won  the American Bred class on went on to take Reserve to a 5 point major.  Boo became Shane's first Champion, CH Korfield's Boo Bayou.   Boo ended up being in the top 20 most of his special career.  Although starting with Dobermans, Shane now handles all breeds and has finished numerous champions.  He is still well known in the Doberman ring.  Shane currently owns "Sabrina", a Boo daughter from frozen semen.  Sabrina was recently bred to CH Marianbergs Repo Man and produced a litter of beautiful puppies.

Erin was raised with German Shorthaired Pointers, which her father, Rudy Karst, competed  in AKC hunting tests as well as AKC dog shows.  Erin's first time in the ring was when she was just 6 years old.  Her father purchased their first GSP from a neighbor who lived down the street, CH Blitz Stormy von Jango.  Erin practiced whenever she got a chance.  She finished Stormy really fast and then went on to compete in Junior handing for a few years, before they moved to the South where she got involved with Dobermans for a few years.  In 1987, Erin purchased her first GSP  - CH Ziegenfeld's E'special E For Me.  Jericho started his show career at the Beverly Hills Kennel Club show at just 6 months of age - where he was awarded Reserve Winners Dog.  At the GSPCA National Specialty Show in 1989???, Jericho was Winner's Dog under Mrs. Anne (Rodger) Clark.  Jericho finished his show championship the very next weekend.

In 1992, Erin met Bob and Arlene Walker of Jaegerhof Shorthairs.  They immediately became friends and Erin started showing their dogs.  Starting in 1993, Arlene and Erin began co-owning and co-breeding dogs.  In August of 1993, Arlene and Erin went to look at a litter of puppies out of a bitch the Bob and Arlene had bred.  There was a young male puppy that both Arlene and Erin fell in love with; however the owner did not want to part with him.  About a week later, the owner of the litter called Arlene to see if we were still interested in the male.  Without asking Bob, she said "yes" and that weekend Arlene and Erin went to pick him up.  That puppy, CH Jaegerhof's Baron von Wendig MH, went on to go Winner's Dog/Best of Winners at the 1995 GSPCA National Specialty Show in Allentown, PA.  In 2002, Baron was named GSPCA Dual Sire of the Year.  In 2008, his son, Jaegerhof's Sir Henry Higgins, MH, was named GSPCA Hunt Test Sire of the Year.

Although Erin currently shows all breeds, her heart has always remained with the sporting group and the German Shorthaired Pointer.

Erin and Shane were married in October 2009.  Erin and Shane's goal will always be the safety and well-being of the dogs in their care.  They are both in the process of applying to the AKC and PHA.  Both Erin and Shane  are committed the "quality" of the dogs they handle and not to the quanity.  They try to make sure that the dogs they are showing are good examples of their respective breeds.  Their kennels is not a boarding kennel and they only keep dogs that they are currently showing or have in for training.

Since their marriage, Shane and Erin have started "Tsunami Kennels" and any future litters will carry that prefix.  However, Erin will continue to breed any German Shorthaired Pointer litters under the kennel name of Jaegerhof.  Erin and Shane co-own and co-breed several different breeds including Golden Retrievers, German Shorthaired Pointers, Dobermans,  all three varieties of Dachshunds, Labrador Retrievers, Australian Sheppard and Irish Wolfhounds.  .  They depend heavily on their co-owners across the country to promote their breeding programs as the time restraints involved with traveling and showing dogs make it impossible for either of them  to breed more than an occasional litter.
